Career Background, In Brief
Although classically trained, Henry’s greatest kick has always come from playing rock ‘n’ roll. After securing a music scholarship, and turning professional at age 19, Henry, impassioned by the British music of the ‘60s and ‘70s, left his hometown of Wanganui, New Zealand and, via a short spell in Auckland where in bands he backed many top New Zealand artists, headed to London.
Upon arriving in the U.K., Henry quickly became a sought-after session musician. As a cornerstone member of The Faith Brothers on keyboards and vocals, he toured and shared stages with legends including U2, R.E.M., Pete Townshend, David Gilmour, The Boomtown Rats, Julian Cope and The Alarm.
Henry’s career is marked by versatility, spanning extensive studio recordings, T.V. and radio appearances, and even honouring his roots in Beatles tribute bands. Henry joined The Swinging Blue Jeans in January, 2026, bringing decades of world-class musicianship and a lifelong passion for the ‘60s sound to every performance.
